Welcome Bancroft students and families!
My name is Beatrice Rendón, and this is my second year teaching fourth grade at Bancroft. I have been working in Minneapolis Public Schools since 2013. I am passionate about helping students in the upper grades develop into lifelong learners and inquirers who care deeply about the world around them. I love teaching at an IB school because we use a student-centered inquiry approach. I want to help my students love learning, embrace their curiosity, and develop the skills they need for success in fifth grade, middle school, and beyond.
A little bit about me: I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and I graduated from Macalester College in Saint Paul with a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies and a focus in Equity and Diversity in Education. I received my elementary teaching license through the Master of Arts program at Hamline University. I love living and teaching here in south Minneapolis!
Parents and families, I look forward to meeting you and working with you throughout the year. Fourth grade is an important and exciting year as students develop the independence, cooperation, and empathy needed to meet the academic and social demands of the upper elementary years. You can expect regular communication from me about your child’s progress and what we are learning in each unit of inquiry.
Other teachers working with Room 226 this year include Ms. Torres, Ms. Lindsey, Ms. Finley, Ms. Hartmann, and Mr. Zach. We have a great team ready to help fourth graders do their best!
