Erin Glynn

I am happy to be the principal of Bancroft Elementary, IB World School.   I have worked for the Minneapolis Public Schools starting Fall of 1983. I have been a principal for 22 years.  All but one in MPS.  I had an Opportunity to work as a principal in La Lima Honduras for one year and it was a very valuable experince.  I served as associate superintendent of schools, and associate superintendent of teaching and learning. In addition to working as a principal on special assignment for three years, I also held principal positions at Field, Marcy and Brookside and was an assistant principal at Lincoln. I began my career at MPS teaching at Marcy Open School.

I have an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership and a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction, both from the University of St. Thomas, and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. I also received my superintendent’s license with coursework at Minnesota State University – Mankato.

I have lived in the Powderhorn neighborhood for 30 years and feel privileged to serve as the principal of Bancroft. I have one son who is married and now two granddaughters.  Family is very important to me. I grew up on a farm in Waseca, Minnesota.

I am excited about our new Coommunity Partnership Status at Bancroft. It will allow us to dig deep into Primary Years Program (PYP) of IB. We have some big goals for the school year. I love the work we are doing at Bancroft. It is a strong staff that is getting stronger each year.  As a collaborative leader, it has been great to get to know the students, families and staff at Bancroft and together we will work hard to promote student success.
