Erin Glynn

I am happy to be the principal of Bancroft Elementary School, IB Candidate School. Most recently, I served as principal of Escuela Internacional in La Lima, Honduras, for one year. Prior to that, I have been employed by MPS for 28 years as a principal and administrator. I served as associate superintendent of schools for one year and associate superintendent of teaching and learning for two years. In addition to working as a principal on special assignment for three years, I also held principal positions at Field, Marcy and Brookside and was an assistant principal at Lincoln. I began my career at MPS teaching at Marcy Open School in 1983.

I have an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership and a Master of Arts degree in curriculum and instruction, both from the University of St. Thomas, and a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. I also received my superintendent’s license with coursework at Minnesota State University – Mankato.

I have lived in the Powderhorn neighborhood for 27 years and feel privileged to serve as the principal of Bancroft. I have one son who is married and now one granddaughter born in October 2012.  Family is very important to me. I am the baby of fourteen kids and grew up on a farm in Waseca, Minnesota.

As a collaborative leader, it has been great to get to know the students, families and staff at Bancroft and together we will work hard to promote student success.
