Welcome Bancroft families and friends!

My name is Jill Oxborough and this is my first year teaching Kindergarten at Bancroft Elementary. I joined the Bancroft community during the 2017-2018 school year as a reserve teacher, spending the school year teaching fourth grade. I am so happy to be back at Bancroft this year, joining the Kindergarten team! I grew up in south Minneapolis, just a few blocks from Bancroft. After graduating from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in elementary education, I began my teaching career in New York City, where I taught Pre-K for two years. From there I spent some time teaching in a Kindergarten classroom in Chiang Mai, Thailand.  I've had a variety of teaching experiences but I am so happy to be back teaching in the neighborhood I grew up in!

My passion lies in embracing the curiosity of each young learner, creating an environment that fosters to inquiry, guiding students on their journey to becoming lifelong learners. This year will be full of learning! We will develop skills to become readers, mathematicians, scientists and kind and caring members of the global community. I look forward to an amazing, fun filled school year!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
