Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

My name is Leslie Ferster. I am excited to be teaching at Bancroft this year!

Fourth grade is my favorite grade and I've been fortunate enough to have taught

it several times over the course of my career.

I grew up in and attended Minneapolis Public Schools. I received my Bachelor of

Science in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota and earned my

Master's Degree in Education from Hamline University.

My goal as an educator is to work in collaboration with families in order to create a

place where student creativity is nurtured and diversity is valued.

I will work to assist students in:

Developing critical thinking skills and building upon their strengths.

Setting goals and monitoring their own progress.

Gaining and strengthening academic skills that will their support success now and in the future.

Using their skills to communicate ideas and in making connections to the world around them.

Respecting and celebrating each other's unique qualities.

Developing individual agency toward creating a better world.

Thank you for sharing your student with Bancroft! This is going to be an amazing year!!
