Hello! My name is Lindsey Sanders. I am the special education resource teacher and intervention specialist for 4th and 5th grade at Bancroft. This is my fifth year at Bancroft and I have worked for the Minneapolis Public Schools since 2006. I began as a special education assistant as I went back to school to receive my teaching license and Masters Degree in special education from Augsburg College. My undergraduate degree is from Bethel University. I have a Kindergarten through twelfth grade teaching license in special education.

I am so happy to be at Bancroft and excited about the students I have the opportunity to work with. I work mostly with small groups and am working with the fourth and fifth grade teachers to incorporate and support IB units as much as possible in our groups. I love working in an IB school and incorporating the IB profile and attitudes into my small groups. I am passionate about seeing students grow and learn. My favorite thing about teaching is when a light bulb goes off and something that a student has struggled with starts making sense for them. That moment is what inspires my teaching.

When I am not teaching, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my daughters, Hazel and Sylvia, and my husband, Matt. Hazel is 5 years old and is in kindergarten this year. Sylvia is just 1 year old and is so much fun right now. I love watching both of my daughters play and learn. I grew up in Minneapolis and love exploring finding new things to do in the city.

Please feel free to email me any time, lindsey.sanders@mpls.k12.mn.us. You can also reach me by calling the office, 612-668-3550. I look forward to hearing from you!
