Welcome to Mrs. Dye's Room

Greeting Students and Families!

I'm very excited to start my fifth year at Bancroft Elementary with you in 5th grade! Prior to coming to Bancroft I taught 6th grade for 5 years and I'm looking forward to helping everyone prepare for the big transition to Middle School next year!

This is my 10th year teaching in Minneapolis, I was the 6th grade math teacher at Northeast Middle School for the last 3 years where I taught Focus, Regular and Advanced Math. Prior to that I taught 6th grade math and science at Richard Green Central Park Elementary School. I graduated from Luther College, in Decorah IA with a degree in Elementary Education.

I'm a resident of South Minneapolis, where I live my husband James, new son Liam and our dog Ryely. I love reading, exploring new places in the city and traveling around the country and the world. I'm also a major Vikings fan so the fall brings two great things the start of school and the start of football season!

I believe positive attitudes are a major key to success in school! I encourage all my students to focus on what they can do and with hard work they can learn anything.  Let's work together to keep that positive attitude in everything we do together this year!

I look forward to the relationships I will build this year with both students and parents. Please feel free to contact me about any questions, concerns or celebration about your child. I'm best reached by e-mail: andrea.dye@mpls.k12.mn.us. You can also call me at the school or send a note in your students planner.

Best Regards,

Andrea Dye
