I am beyond thrilled to be joining Bancroft’s amazing community of diverse and unique learners, families, and staff. As a resident of Minneapolis, it is always been a desire of mine to work at a school in the community I live in.
I started with Minneapolis Schools in 2013 as a Kindergarten teacher and have served in leadership roles throughout the district, most recently: Assistant Principal for Emerson Elementary.
I have a deep commitment to public schools and believe all children and families deserve the absolute best when it comes to education. I believe in the education of the whole child, relationships, and high expectations are the foundation of which strong schools are built. My goal is to foster a positive and courageous learning environment for all learners.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish studies through the University of Minnesota and continued my education at Hamline University receiving my Master of Arts in Teaching. In 2015 I had the privelege of participating in Minneapolis Schools Aspiring Transformational Principal Academy. During this time, I served as Principal Intern at Cityview Elementary and received my administration licensure through the University of Minnesota.
My husband, and I keep busy exploring Minneapolis, biking, running, and keeping up with our two girls, ages 6 and 9 months,
I look forward to being part of the great work happening at Bancroft!
Sincerely,
Breanna Nichols
