Who is Ms. Hartmann?

Hello students and families!  My name is Ms. Hartmann and I love teaching math, learning, and spending time with my family and friends. This is my eighth year teaching at Bancroft Elementary. Most of my experience has been in the classroom. For the first 19 years, I  taught at Andersen Elementary School in south Minneapolis.  I am very excited to be here at Bancroft and couldn't be more excited to exclusively teach my favorite subject, MATH!  Currently I teach with 4th and 5th grades, work with our advanced learners in all grades and I oversee all math programing K-5th grade. I am very lucky to teach with wonderful, talented, dedicated teachers, I just LOVE Bancroft, go bulldogs!

I graduated from St. Catherine's University with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a minor in math and social work.  I also have my master’s degree from St. Thomas University in curriculum and Instruction.  In addition to my masters degree, I recently earned my certificate for Advanced Learners.  Teaching children is my passion!  My expectations are high, but I also love to have fun with my students!  I think my students would agree that we work hard and enjoy our time in math.  If you ever have a question or need to contact me, email is the best way.  My email address is
