Opt Out of Testing

Parents and Guardians who would like to opt out of Statewide Testing for their student will need to fill out the last page of the form that is linked below and return it to the school.  This form must be filled out each year and should be received by NO LATER THAN JANUARY 15 of the academic school year for all statewide test (including ACCESS & MCA/MTAS).

Please be aware that with Minnesota's implementation of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act, a student not participating in the statewide assessments will not receive an individual score and will be counted as "NOT PROFICIENT" for the purpose of school and district accountability, including opportunities for support and recognition.

For further information about Refusal for Student Participation in Statewide Testing, please read the first two pages of the attached form, or visit the Statewide Testing website at education.state.mn.us >> Students and families >> Programs and Initiatives >> Statewide Testing.
