My name is Rachelle Bigler.  I am the special education resource teacher and intervention specialist for 2nd and 3rd grade at Bancroft.  I'm very happy to be part of the Bancroft Community.

I have been a teacher with Minneapolis Public Schools since 1992.  I was previously at Andersen Community School, and Lake Nokomis Community School – Keewaydin Campus.  It’s hard to believe I’ve been teaching this long! I’ve enjoyed each and every year, meeting and learning from amazing collogues, students and families.  I feel lucky to have a job that I love.

As a special education teacher and intervention specialist, I work with small groups of students who need additional academic and/or behavior support.  I enjoy the small group setting because it allows me to develop strong relationships with students and truly gain an understanding of their individual learning needs.  I believe all students can learn and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

On the personal side, I have two high schoolers of my own at home to keep me busy!  My favorite thing to do is attend their various sporting events. Basketball games and taekwondo events are my favorite.
