How Can I Keep Learning Languages?

 

  • Use the links on the Bancroft World Language website for fun online games and videos.
  • Use Duolingo Online to keep on practicing Spanish and other languages! 
  • Check out books, music, and videos in Spanish, attend a Spanish Storytime or join a Spanish Book Club at Hennepin County Public Libraries.  Use keyword search "Spanish" to find specific events on the calendar websites.
  • Enjoy the rhythms of Latin and Caribbean Music in the Parks.  Performers such as the Latin Billies and Charanga Tropical have performances in Minneapolis parks throughout the summer.
  • Watch a free outdoor movie with Spanish subtitles with Minneapolis Movies in the Park.
  • Spend an afternoon immersed in world cultures during Wee Wednesdays from 10:30-11:15am and Family Fridays from 5:30-7:30pm at the Midtown Global Market.
  • Take a trip to Mercado Central on Lake Street to experience the tastes and fashions of Latin America.
  • Sing and dance at the Flint Hills International Children's Festival.  There are a variety of artists and performing groups sharing their talents in Latin American music and dance at the Ordway May 31-June1.  
  • Join a summer class or camp through Minneapolis Community Ed, Minneapolis Parks and RecreationSt. Paul Community Ed or Language Sprout to grow your skills during our break.
  • Attend a free or low-cost Family Zumba class and groove along to music from Latin America while getting fit.  Check Minneapolis Parks and Rec for details.
